Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Nano, Powder, and Combo brow?

Nano: gives a very natural, hair stroke look. It is a much safer and no trauma option compared to microblading.

Powder: gives a soft, filled in look. You can make opt for a very soft, natural look, or a bolder more defined look.

Combo: gives you hair strokes in the fronts of your brows and fills in the middle and tail for a little more definition.

Is this microblading?

NO and we would not recommend any microblading services. It causes skin trauma and scarring and results don't hold well over time.

How long does it take to heal?

You will be healed in 10-14 days. Until you are fully healed, avoid open waters such as pools, lakes, and oceans.

Is it a tattoo?

Essentially, yes. We work with a hand held tattoo machine and a small needle cartridge. The needle doesn't go quite as deep as a traditional tattoo and we use different pigments bases.

When will I need a touchup?

We recommend you come in 6-8 weeks later for a perfecting session and after that you should be good for AT LEAST 18 months up to 3 years. We want you to wait as long as possible between touchups. If you are coming once a year for a touchup, your skin will eventually be too full of pigment to hold anymore.

Am I good candidate for PMU?

If you are not on blood thinners, heart medications, retinols, and acne treatments (accutane) you are a good candidate. Retinol users MUST stop use AT LEAST 1 week prior to service and can resume 2 weeks after service.

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?

We recommend not wearing any makeup to your appointment.

I have previous work done, can I make an appointment?

At The Luxxy Company, we value the integrity of our work and rarely work over brows that have previously been tattooed by another artist. If your previous work is light enough, we will happily work with you. Please book a consultation first.

Will it scab and look scary during the healing process?

Powder brow and nano brow are very gentle on the skin so you shouldn't have any crazy scabbing. At most we say you may have some light sunburn type flaking.
